Welcome back to the second part of our interview preparation guide! Now that you’re all prepped up and ready to go, let’s talk about how to knock that interview out of the park and what to do afterwards.
- Making a great first impression
Greet everyone with a warm smile and a firm handshake. It’s your chance to set the tone and show them you mean business. Remember, first impressions are key.
- Let your personality shine
Interviews aren’t just about skills; they’re about personalities too. Be yourself and let your enthusiasm for the role shine through. Show them the awesome person they’ll get to work with.
- Listening and responding thoughtfully
Communication is key! Listen carefully to the interviewer’s questions, and take a moment to gather your thoughts before responding. It’s okay to pause and think; it shows you’re considering your answers thoughtfully.
- Dealing with tricky questions
Ah, the dreaded curveballs! If you’re thrown a tricky question, take a deep breath and tackle it calmly. You don’t have to have all the answers, but show them how you handle challenges with grace and confidence.
- Showing why you’re the perfect fit
Remember all that research you did about the company and role? Now’s the time to use it! Showcase how your skills and experiences align perfectly with what they’re looking for. Make them think, “Wow, this person gets us!”
- Ending on a high note
As the interview wraps up, thank the interviewer for their time and express your genuine interest in the role and the company. The questions you have prepared according to the tips in our blog part 1 can be asked now. It’s your chance to leave a lasting impression, so make it count!
- Following up with gratitude
A thank-you goes a long way! Send a personalized email to the interviewer, thanking them for the opportunity and reaffirming your excitement about the role. It shows professionalism and gratitude.
